On February 28th, Adobe announced its new tool “Project Music GeneAI Control”, equipped with a generative AI for music. This tool allows users to create and edit music without professional skills. Adobe said, that in this tool, AI will serve as a co-composer. Adobe is known as a leading software technology company that already offers a various kind of software that is loaded with generative AI. Therefore, this announcement of the tool with a generative AI for music shocked the creation industry in terms of their entry into the music industry.
Generative AI of its new tool helps users in a lot of ways with music creation
As other tools with generative AI for music do, Adobe’s new tool also enables creating music with text prompts and editing it without another editing software. Users can input simple text and it will generate music to go along with it within a few seconds. Adobe says its editing control makes it possible for users to customize generated audio, specifically, adjusting intensity, tempo, repeated pattern, and structure. Moreover, Adobe also says this tool enables users to repeat the loop and make generated audio fade out which is needed for video creator or pod-cast creator. Nicholas Bryan, a senior researcher at Adobe Research said, “They’re taking it to the level of Photoshop (one of the most famous their product with generative AI) by giving creatives the same kind of deep control to shape, tweak, and edit their audio. It’s a kind of pixel-level control for music.”
