The new Dyson Airstrait is a hair iron straightener excels by using a strong airflow to dry and straighten wet hair without relying so much on heat. As the iron passes through, the hair is straightened by the outgoing airflow. This downward-driven airflow creates the perfect angle for straightening. Two streams of air, each at 45 degrees from the arms, forcefully exit through 1.5 mm openings. This allows the hair to be dried and straightened simultaneously in a single pass.

The Dyson Airstrait straightener uses Hyperdymium motor technology. Despite its small size and light weight, this straightener has plenty of power that achieves the airflow needed to dry and straighten hair at the same time. Its 13-blade motor reaches a maximum speed of 106,000 rpm, which allows more than 11.9 liters of air to be blown out per second. Therefore, this force generates a pressure of up to 3.5kPa, enough to perform both tasks without compromising the quality of the result. Thanks to its compact size of only 27mm, the motor sits inside the handle, providing a powerful and comfortable experience at the same time.
Intelligent heat control
The Dyson Airstrait iron features intelligent heat control, just like other Dyson hair care products. It uses glass beac thermistors to measure the temperature of the airflow 30 times per second. This helps prevent heat damage and protect the hair’s shine. The data is sent to a microprocessor that regulates the heating element to ensure that the airflow does not exceed the temperature.
The Dyson Airstrait was introduced in 2023 and is now available for purchase in Spain. On January 19, it went on sale on the Dyson website. In addition, in physical stores it arrived last Wednesday, March 6. Its price starts at 499 euros.
