“I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for human rights”, Taylor Swift

She attributed her reluctance of political-positioning to events in her life and “in the world in the past two years“. Swift then went on to say that she feels very differently now. She also remarked her support for Phil Bredesen (Senate) and Jim Cooper (House of Representatives). “I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for human rights“.

Taylor Swift also reminded young people to vote, explaining how powerful their participation can be. “So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years”, she says. “And now [they] have the right and privilege to make their vote count”.
